Amigurumi Club

Amigurumi is the general term for crocheted stuffed animals or toys. Students in the Amigurumi club will learn the basics of crocheting the pieces, stuffing the pieces, sewing the pieces together, and adding additional embellishments like facial features. We'll guide you through a rotating set of projects, each lasting about 2-4 weeks, working through all the steps of the project from start to finish together as a group.

Beginning crocheters are welcome, as are children and teens! Most patterns only require single crochet and the magic loop, and any unknown stitches or techniques will be taught during class. The only class requirements are all students must register prior to class start time and all yarn must be purchased from Ann's By Design.

Our first project will be the sweet bear pictured above. He is a larger-sized project than most amigurumi, and uses 1 skein of Cascade Pluff Effects, a super bulky yarn. (If you want a smaller, less plush bear you can use a worsted-weight yarn). New projects will be updated monthly.

Amigurumi Club meets on Saturdays from 3pm to 4pm starting March 9.

The Pluff Bear project runs from March 9 to March 23.
